Good Time to Talk?
Here’s a simple courtesy that provides big payoffs when contacting others by telephone. After you introduce yourself and give the purpose of your call, ask, “Is this a good time for us to talk?” Asking that question demonstrates not only that you’re considerate, but also implies that you need the other person’s undivided time and attention. It’s simple, sensitive, and effective.
