How Pointing Out Product Imperfections Builds Customer Trust
Too often, salespeople believe that they should gloss over any flaws in their products and services. Ironically, pointing out your weaknesses is often a great way of building trust and generating sales.
Soon after graduating from university, I attempted to sell the ‘old beater’ I’d been driving. My classified ad described the low priced car as being in very good condition. Result – not one call. Upon the advice of my Dad, I changed the ad to read, “needs new muffler.” Result – numerous calls and sold the car in 3 days.
