Itemize Your Points and Questions
Here’s a subtle, easy communication tip that enhances your credibility in three ways. Start the conversation by telling the person the number of points you’ll make or the number of questions you’ll ask. Example: “This option gives you three advantages…” Or, “there are two things I need to ask you…” Giving a specific number has three benefits: 1. Conveying that your thoughts are organized. 2. Creating anticipation in the listener. 3. Encouraging the listener to not interrupt until you’ve made your points. Powerful results for a simple phrase.
