Just Say No to the Nightly News boost your positivity

Stay Positive in a World Full of Negativity

We all know that given the choice people would rather do business with/ be friends with/ live with/ a person who is cheerful. There’s plenty of medical evidence showing that people who are generally positive are healthier and live longer. The real challenge is with all the pressures of daily living how do we maintain an upbeat disposition?

Try this experiment for 3 weeks, consciously avoid typical news items that focus on violence, politics, global warming and all the negatives that besiege us. I’ve been doing this for the last month and am heartened by the calming effect it’s had. Certainly, write cheques to help the underprivileged, vote in elections, do your part for the environment. Then give yourself permission to step away from the maelstrom and regain your peace-of-mind.

Today’s chuckle:

If you can’t say something nice, become a reporter.
