Voicing Opinions or Spouting Platitudes?
Seems the older I get the less I know for sure. There was a time in my life when I could size a person up in 30 seconds depending on where they were from, what they looked like, if they were divorced, and what they did for a living. Sometimes I wonder if my entire adult life has been about discovering just how wrong I’ve been in my first impressions. Similarly, where my political views were once clear and ‘uncompromising’, I’ve since realized that often times the other party’s platforms really do make more sense. Makes you wonder whether expressing instant opinions as black and white reflects decisiveness, or reveals prejudice.
