Customer Service Training TIps

Ask About the Budget

When selling a product or service there are times when you may want to discuss the customer’s budget. The challenge is that simply asking, “What’s your budget?” may come across as inappropriate. It may sound like we’re asking how much they can afford. That’s like asking how much money someone earns. Or it may sound like we’re just trying to find out the maximum to charge – which may not result in us receiving accurate information. A more tactful way of wording the question is to ask, “Is there a budget that I should be aware of?”
